Texas 2-1 Losers to Cubs
In a low-scoring game between Chicago and Texas, pitcher Kevin Gausman was excellent. The Chicago right-hander helped his team knock off the Rangers, 2-1. Gausman got the win, improving to 3-0. He gave up 2 hits and walked 3 over 6 innings. He allowed 1 run. Hunter Gaddis was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.

The Cubs got a big at-bat from center fielder Julio Rodriguez. For the game, Rodriguez was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Chicago a 2-1 lead.

"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Chicago manager Bryan H.
