Reds Win, 2-1, Versus San Francisco
|
The Cincinnati Reds did just enough to sneak past the San Francisco Giants, 2-1, at Oracle Park. Cincinnati pitcher Corbin Burnes, in particular, had a standout performance. Cincinnati pitcher Jeremiah Estrada got the win. He's now 1-0. Ryan Pressly was tagged with the loss. Felix Bautista sewed up the save, his 4th.
Brent Rooker had a direct impact on the outcome. Rooker contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the ninth inning to put Cincinnati up, 2-1.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said San Francisco manager Jason M.
San Francisco, with the loss, is still a hardy 7-3.
