Cincinnati Beaten, 2-1, by San Francisco
|
The Cincinnati Reds wasted an impressive 7-inning effort from starter Joe Ryan, falling, 2-1, to the San Francisco Giants in 10 innings at Oracle Park. The win brings the Giants to 8-3, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
The decisive blow was delivered by Jeimer Candelario in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 29-year old right-handed pitcher Felix Bautista to win the game for San Francisco. The home crowd went nuts.
Candelario called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."
