The Houston Astros beat the Kansas City Royals, 7-4, in 10 innings. Houston pinch hitter Trey Cabbage, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 1-1 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Houston reliever Tim Mayza got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Ryan Helsley was tagged with the loss. Hunter Harvey picked up the save, his 6th.

Cabbage had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 1-0 fastball from Ryan Helsley, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Astros a 6-4 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Cabbage.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Cabbage told the Houston Daily. "It's as simple as that."

At 12-0, the 2024 Astros have been excellent so far.
