San Francisco Tacks 5-2 Loss on Cincinnati
|
San Francisco and Cincinnati duked it out and the Giants came out victorious.
San Francisco pitcher Logan Gilbert had a large part in his team subduing the Cincinnati Reds, 5-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. The winning pitcher was Gilbert, now 2-1. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. Max Kranick recorded his 1st save for San Francisco.
In the bottom of the fourth, San Francisco left fielder Cedric Mullins had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out, Mullins stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 2-0, San Francisco. For the game, he was 1-3 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Logan was throwing with conviction," said San Francisco manager Jason M.
The Giants, now 9-3, have hit the ground running this season.
