Cron Lifts Twins to 6-5 Win
The 6-5 Minnesota win over Los Angeles was due largely to C.J. Cron. The Twins designated hitter went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times. Minnesota reliever Alex Speas picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Luis Severino was tagged with the loss. Picking up his 2nd save was 27-year old left-handed pitcher Thomas Szapucki.

In the bottom of the first, Minnesota first baseman Matt Carpenter had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Carpenter stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 2-0, Minnesota. For the game, he was 1 for 2 with 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI.

"It feels good to get this one," Cron told the Minnesota Today.

The loss makes Los Angeles 9-6.
