Rays Get One-Run Win at Los Angeles
|
The Tampa Bay Rays topped the Los Angeles Angels, 5-4, in American League action at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The standout performance belonged to Tampa Bay pitcher and La Romana, Dominican Republic, native Cristopher Sanchez. Sanchez got the win, improving to 2-0. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 4 runs. The Angels, 6-6, continue their so-so start to the 2024 season.
Tampa Bay used a well-timed hit by Jake Bauers to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rays ahead, 5-3. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
Tampa Bay manager Mark S commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
