The Toronto Blue Jays cut down the Boston Red Sox by the score of 5-4, with the largest share of the credit going to designated hitter Bryce Harper. Harper was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Blue Jays. Toronto reliever Michael Kopech picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Tyler Holton absorbed the loss. Getting the save was Josh Hader, his 2nd.
Toronto used the timely hitting of Miguel Amaya to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blue Jays on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Toronto manager Dan D called it "a good, solid win."
The Red Sox fall to 5-8 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2025 season.
