|
Rockies designated hitter Cal Raleigh left his mark on his team's 2-1 win over the San Diego Padres. Raleigh, who is tied for 3rd in the NL in RBI with 18, was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs for Colorado in the contest. Tyler Mahle picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed 1 run on 5 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 8. On the season, he is now 1-1. Luke Weaver picked up the save for Colorado, his 1st of the year.
Raleigh had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 1-1 changeup from Chris Paddack, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Rockies a 2-1 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Raleigh.
Raleigh called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
The win gives Colorado a record of 7-7.
