The New York Mets earned a win at Target Field, stopping the Minnesota Twins, 7-1. Starting pitcher Chayce McDermott played a big role in his team's success. The win puts New York at 8-8.

Chandler Simpson went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 3 runs for New York. The 24-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring single off Ryan Pepiot. It was his 25th hit of the season.

"Chayce had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said New York manager Craig K.
