Royals 4-3 Winners Over New York
|
Kansas City right fielder Corbin Carroll contributed significantly to his team's 4-3 win over the New York Yankees. Carroll, who led the AL in runs with 127 last year, went 4 for 5 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Royals. Jhoan Duran wrapped it up, recording his 5th save. With the loss, New York falls to 6-10.
Rafael Devers, who finished 2nd in the AL in RBI with 106 in 2021, had a direct impact on the outcome. Devers contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Kansas City up, 4-1.
Kansas City manager Jim H commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
