Red Sox Take Down Rays, 5-2
The Boston Red Sox used a stellar performance from pitcher Ben Lively to throttle the Tampa Bay offense en route to an extra-inning, 5-2 win at Tropicana Field. The winner in relief was John Schreiber. He is now 2-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. The loss puts Tampa Bay at 7-11.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Spencer Torkelson? The 25-year old first baseman Torkelson stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 12th inning to put Boston up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Lively said.
