White Sox Deal Houston 9-4 Defeat
The Chicago White Sox spoiled a good performance by Houston first baseman Yordan Alvarez, bumping off Houston, 9-4, at Guaranteed Rate Field. Alvarez was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch. Joe Musgrove was the winner. He's now 2-1. The loser was 26-year old right-handed pitcher Hunter Brown. Cole Sands got the save, the 1st for him this season.

Ozzie Albies hit a bases-clearing double off Hunter Brown in the bottom of the third, which put the White Sox in front, 4-2. In addition to the double, Albies had 1 single, while going 2 for 5.

"Nice win for us," said Albies. "Now we'll go after the next one."

The White Sox, with just their 5th win so far in 2025, have yet to catch fire.
