Skenes K's 12 En Route to 3-0 Guardians Win
The Cleveland Guardians topped the New York Yankees, 3-0, in American League action at Progressive Field. The standout performance belonged to Cleveland pitcher and Lake Forest, California, native Paul Skenes. Jose Leclerc closed out the game, earning his 9th save. With the loss, New York is 11-13.

The Guardians liked what they saw from Skenes. The 22-year- old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Yankees to no runs on 4 hits over 7 innings, and striking out 12.

"Paul is still learning," said Guardians manager Paul B. "The sky's the limit for him."
