Rangers 3-2 Winners Versus Houston
|
Texas pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto did his part in helping his team defeat the Houston Astros, 3-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. In 5 innings, Yamamoto surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Edwin Uceta notched his 3rd save of the season.
Texas used a well-timed hit by Matt Vierling to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Rangers ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Texas manager Brian O.
Houston is 12-13 after the defeat.
