Royals Deal Angels 6-5 Loss
|
The rain came, as predicted, but the Kansas City Royals and Los Angeles Angels were able to complete their ballgame.
Kansas City picked up a win at Kauffman Stadium, bumping off the Los Angeles Angels, 6-5. Pitcher Jonathan Cannon was a major reason the Royals emerged victorious. Kansas City reliever Bruce Zimmermann picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Jesus Tinoco absorbed the loss.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 13th inning, when Kansas City right fielder Corbin Carroll, facing Justin Lawrence, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Royals the 6-5 win.
"When you are able to locate the ball, good things are going to happen," said Cannon.
The Angels fall to 10-16 and continue their lackluster start in 2025.
