The Los Angeles Angels had to overcome a fine effort from Kansas City pitcher Alek Manoah to win, 4-3, at Kauffman Stadium. Manoah went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. The win belonged to Carlos Estevez in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Jhoan Duran took the loss for Kansas City. Bryan Abreu closed out the game, earning his 4th save.

Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Luis Guillorme to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Angels on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," Guillorme said.

Kansas City is now 14-15.
