Marlins Move on to League Championship Series Thursday, October 10th , 2024 The Miami Marlins are riding high after winning the Division Series and eliminating the Chicago Cubs by a series score of 3-1. The final blow came tonight at Wrigley Field, when Miami secured its spot in the League Championship Series with a 2-1 victory. "It feels good to put them away because we really didn't want to let them crawl back into this series," said third baseman Alex Bregman, who was named series MVP. "A team like that, you need to bury them when you get the chance." Bregman certainly helped his team's cause, as he hit .385 with a .429 on-base percentage in the series. He also chipped in 2 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 2 runs. The Miami Marlins don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the San Francisco Giants - Colorado Rockies series. Colorado leads the series 2 games to 1. The League Championship Series is scheduled to begin on October 13th , 2024.
