Monday, September 8th , 2025
22-year-old James Wood sent shock waves through Major League Baseball last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the National League Player of the Week Award.
A newcomer to the league, Wood made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .500 average, 10 hits in 20 at-bats, 4 home runs and 10 RBI.
Where the Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Wood certainly made his mark last week.
A look at his current stats shows Wood with a .260 average, 25 home runs, 81 RBIs and 81 runs scored. He has played in 139 games.
