Torkelson Blasts 3 out of the Park
Wednesday, September 10th , 2025
Boston Red Sox first baseman Spencer Torkelson sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little.
Prior to the start of today's contest with the Houston Astros, Torkelson told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times.
"During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber."
The big day from Torkelson pushed the Red Sox past the Astros, 10-6. To go along with the homers, he collected 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
"I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Torkelson told reporters after the game.
Spencer Torkelson flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Framber Valdez in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Manuel Rodriguez in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Hunter Harvey in the 9th.
Thus far this year, Torkelson has hit .207 with 24 home runs and 75 RBIs.
