Cleveland Sweeps into the Division Series Thursday, October 2nd , 2025 It's a sweet sweep for the Cleveland Guardians and they have won the Wild Card Game. The Minnesota Twins were not able to keep pace with the Guardians and dropped the series in short order, losing, 5-4, in the deciding game. "This wasn't really the effort we hoped for," said Minnesota manager Jonathan A. It's now on to the Division Series for Cleveland after their 2-0 series win. Leading the way for the winners was shortstop Masyn Winn, who was named MVP. For the series, Winn hit .571 with a .556 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 4 runs. The Cleveland Guardians will play against the Detroit Tigers in the next round. Detroit had a bye in the Wild Card Game. The Division Series is scheduled to begin on October 3rd , 2025.
