Kansas City Loses Ryan Helsley Friday, July 11th , 2025 Ryan Helsley of the Kansas City Royals was injured in today's game against New York and had to be helped off the field by the trainers. The initial diagnosis is a strained abdominal muscle, and he is expected to be out for up to 6 weeks. It happened while Helsley was throwing a pitch. "It hurt a lot, to be honest. I just hope it heals soon and I can get back on the field." To date this season, Helsley has fashioned a 3.63 ERA and rung up 2 saves for his club. He has 52 strikeouts and 15 walks.
