Tatis Hits for the Cycle
Sunday, September 29th , 2024
At Comerica Park, Fernando Tatis led Detroit to a win, 8-7, over the Chicago White Sox by hitting for the cycle, one of baseball's more difficult feats.

"Usually the triple is the hardest one to get, but I was most worried about the homer today because the ball wasn't carrying," Tatis said later. "When I took it deep, I was expecting the ball to die on the warning track, so it was sweet seeing the ump give me the signal to circle the bases."

In addition to going 4-for-6, Tatis chalked up 1 run batted in and scored 2 runs in an exceptional performance.

Fernando Tatis struck out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, tripled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th, singled in the 9th and hit a solo-shot off Garrett Cleavinger in the 11th.

So far on the season, Tatis is hitting .287 with 42 home runs, 125 RBIs and 99 runs scored. He has 179 hits and played in 157 games.
