Romero Keeps Hit Streak Alive Monday, June 9th , 2025 The Arkansas Travelers may have proven to be mere mortals as they lost, 7-5, to the Frisco RoughRiders, but Mikey Romero continued to hit like a god. The second baseman collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 20 games. "Romero is playing great and is on fire right now," Travelers manager said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins." Romero was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." Mikey Romero singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Bryce Hubbart in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Thus far this year, Romero is batting .332 with 5 home runs, 14 RBIs and 25 runs scored. |
