Romero Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Wichita Saturday, August 2nd , 2025 Mikey Romero saw his 35-game hitting streak wither and die during the Arkansas Travelers win over Wichita at Dickey-Stephens Park. The 21-year-old second baseman was held hitless in 3 at-bats by the Wichita Wind Surge, but his teammates produced enough offense to win the game, 4-0. "Am I disappointed about the hit streak? Maybe, just a little bit," a seemingly upbeat Romero told reporters in the clubhouse. "But really, how could you be unhappy after you hit in 35 straight games? I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did. Life is good." Romero is hitting .365 in 2025 with 28 RBIs and 10 home runs. |
