Baldwin Goes 5-for-6 Against Springfield Friday, April 25th , 2025 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Brooks Baldwin is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-6 against the Springfield Cardinals at Hammons Field. The monster effort from the 24-year-old second baseman helped the Amarillo Sod Poodles get the win, 7-3. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Cardinals manager . "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Brooks Baldwin doubled in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Caleb Kilian in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Drew Gray in the 7th and struck out in the 9th. Looking at his stats this year, Baldwin has compiled a .472 batting average, while hitting 4 home runs and driving in 9 runs. He has played in 11 games and scored 8 runs. |
