RockHounds Advance to Round 2 Sunday, September 15th , 2024 The Round 1 may not have lived up to the expectation that it would be a dogfight that would go the distance. The Midland RockHounds, however, are not complaining. The RockHounds were plenty happy to have wrapped up the series early and to have knocked out the San Antonio Missions to advance to the Round 2. Midland won the final game by a 7-2 count at Momentum Bank Ballpark and the series 3-1. RockHounds first baseman Kevin Padlo was named series MVP, as he hit .500 with a .625 on-base percentage. He added 1 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 4 runs. "It's not going to be the last time San Antonio makes it to the playoffs, so it's sure a nice feeling to put them out this year," Padlo said. "We just need to keep this going and take it day by day." The Midland RockHounds don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Northwest Arkansas Naturals - Wichita Wind Surge series. Northwest Arkansas leads the series 2 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
