Yankees Win Squeaker, 3-2, Over Twins

The Minnesota Twins could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Spencer Schwellenbach into a win. Instead, the New York Yankees prevailed, 3-2. Schwellenbach threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The winner was New York reliever Keegan Akin, now 4-5. The loser was Josh Hader. Today's win puts New York at 55-66, while Minnesota falls to 63-58.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when New York center fielder Tyler Freeman, facing Aroldis Chapman, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Yankees the 3-2 win.
"The game of baseball will test you," said Darrell S, the New York skipper. "This one tested us."
