Romero Tops Double-A South Pitchers Wednesday, October 9th , 2024 The spotlight today is on Seth Romero of the Tennessee Smokies. He was named the top pitcher in the Double-A South and will be honored with the 2024 Outstanding Pitcher Award. Romero compiled an impressive 12-5 won-lost mark to capture this year's honor. In 165.1 innings of work and 29 starts, the Smokies star struck out 237, while giving up 111 hits and 54 walks. He limited opposing batters to a .193 average. He received 8 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Daniel Espino of the Biloxi Shuckers finished second in voting, while Mason Montgomery of the Chattanooga Lookouts finished third.
