The doldrums are upon us. Baseball is officially over for another year and the tarp can go on the field one final time. Of course, there is still plenty of activity in Double-A South. There are roster and financial moves to be made. There is the endless speculation of who will end up where. Rumors, trades, firings, hirings and a joyful merry-go-round of action that will culminate with Opening Day.

It's Over! Pensacola Defeats Tennessee

The Pensacola faithful were cheering in the streets, and Tennessee fans wiping away the tears, after the Blue Wahoos won the Round 2 at Blue Wahoos Stadium today.
The Blue Wahoos clinched it by knocking off the Smokies 2-1 to take their 2nd Double-A South crown. Pensacola took the series 4-1.
"This club never gave up all year long," Pensacola manager told the press. "They believed they could win the title and they did."
On the way to the Round 2 title, Pensacola compiled a 77-63 won-loss record and finished second in the South Division.
"We just didn't play well enough to win," Smokies manager said. "We just didn't make the big plays like they did."
