Quero Torches Blue Wahoos for 5 Hits Sunday, July 21st , 2024 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Edgar Quero -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage and sparkled on the diamond at Blue Wahoos Stadium, but the performance lost a little luster when the Lookouts were downed, 8-7, by the Pensacola Blue Wahoos. After his glittering performance, the Chattanooga catcher told the press that he "just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat." His batting theory paid dividends today as he slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. "I just wish we had added a win in the record book, too," Quero said. Edgar Quero hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit an RBI double in the 9th and singled in the 12th. A look at his current stats shows Quero with a .325 average, no home runs, 22 RBIs and 26 runs scored. He has played in 71 games. |
