DeLauter Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Arkansas Wednesday, August 20th , 2025 For 20 straight games, Chase DeLauter tried to ignore his hitting streak. It wasn't easy. Well, the 23-year-old Midland RockHounds right fielder can forget about it now -- it's over, courtesy of the Arkansas Travelers. The Travelers held him hitless in 4 at-bats at Dickey-Stephens Park and snapped his consecutive-game hitting string at 20. There was at least one good note to the end of the streak, however, as the RockHounds took the win by the score of 6-2. "I tried to ignore it for weeks, but you guys in the media wouldn't let me," he joked with reporters after the game. "I'm looking forward to some peace and quiet now." To date this season, DeLauter is hitting .392 with 14 home runs. |
